Ellen Finlay, J.D., graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1982 from Duke University where she obtained her B.A. in Psychology. She then graduated with honors in 1986 from the University of Texas School of Law where she was awarded Order of the Coif.
Following her graduation, Ms. Finlay practiced as a litigator specializing in the representation of healthcare providers and manufacturers of products. Ms. Finlay successfully tried numerous jury trials, including several death cases, and was able to obtain defense verdicts on behalf of each of her clients in those trials.
In 1998, Ms. Finlay withdrew from her position as a shareholder at a major law firm in Houston, Texas, to form Jury Focus, a jury consulting firm based in Houston with national expertise.
Ms. Finlay has also added "Arbitrator" to her list of skills and interests after completing arbitration training at the AA White Dispute Resolution Center.
